during the cathedral’s visiting hours
An experienced guide will take you on a tour of the cathedral. You learn more about the building’s history and significance and its art heritage. You will also have the opportunity to visit places that you never surmised existed in the cathedral. The climb of the small tower and the view of the garden are the highlights of this tour.

The cathedral’s interior is most magnificent at dusk. The setting sun creates a unique atmosphere, that you can fully enjoy during your evening visit. The space is just as magical when it’s completely dark outside. During an evening visit, a professional guide will take you on a tour of the most beautiful places in the cathedral.

An evening visit behind the scenes adds another dimension to your visit of these ‘secret places’ in the cathedral. You enjoy the kind of tranquillity that you can never experience during daytime when the cathedral is teeming with visitors. The panoramic view from the small tower across the city is equally breath-taking at night.

Organ demonstration
Evening visit after the cathedral’s visiting hours
The cathedral has two exceptional organs. During an organ demo, the cathedral’s organist will give an impassioned and expert explanation about the classic Metzler organ in the transept and the romantic Schyven organ in the choir loft. He will perform a number of organ works, which will reveal the characteristics of the two organs to their full advantage. A wonderful experience, even for people who are not necessarily organ aficionados.
